This years Open Mixed pairs attracted 24 teams to our green where all pairs played 3 time restricted games against different opponents, At the conclusion of play just 2 pairs remained unbeaten so first prize was determined by the number of ends won and the total shot difference. It was a Dover B.C. pairing of Stevie Benn & Dawn Diamond that came out on top on 9 points & winning 19 ends and a shot difference of plus 15. Close behind was Geraldine & Gordon Fisher of Folkestone B.C. also on 9 points & winning 19 ends but with a shot difference of plus 11 shots. In 3rd place were Laura Kent & Fred Pontin with 2 wins for 6 points, 22 ends and plus 17 shots. The Club's President, Lyn Smith, presented the winners with their trophies and prize money and thanked our sponsors, W.J. Farriers, and all that had made the day such a great success with the event raising £691 for club funds.

Kearsney retained the Lindsay Langley Shield against Gateway B.C. by winning the 2nd leg at Gateway by 98 shots to 92. This win and our win at home earlier in the season by 104 shots to 68 gave Kearsney an overall win by 202 shots to 160 shots. The Shield is played annually between Gateway and Kearsney in memory of Lindsay who had been a member of both clubs gaining her Kent County Badge whilst a member at Kearsney..

The winners this year of Gateway's Open Mixed Triples was Kearsney B.C. represented by Lyn, Paul & Steve Smith. They won all 3 of their Group 1 games to take their place in the final. In the final they met the winners of Group 2 a triple representing Faversham B.C. who also had an unbeaten route to the final. Faversham went 2-7 up in the time restricted final but a 3, 2, & another 2 on the last 3 ends gave Kearsney a 9 - 7 win in a very entertaining final.

This year the winners of the Arthur Lewis Trophy, the Club’s Open Mixed Triples Tournament, was Kearsney B.C. represented by Jean Gavin, Paul Cook & Doug Heaps winning all of their 3 games for 9 points. In 2nd place was another Kearsney team of Rosemary & Guy Peto with skip Roger Cook with 2 wins for 6 points & winning 19 ends, 3rd were Sharon McCaughan, John Libby & Daren Norris again on 6 points but just 16 ends won.
