Muzz Law receiving the Bob Potts Memorial Shield from Jeanette Potts on Sunday. Muzz accumulated 62 points just ahead of Carol Wellard on 61 points to become the first winner of the tournament played for charity in memory of Bob Potts. The tournament raised £300.00 for each of the chosen charities, Pilgrims Hospice & Macmillan Cancer Support. Third place went to Malcolm Deakin with Lyn Smith in fourth place. The match was followed by a BBQ for over 70 members & friends.

On a lovely Saturday morning 30 Kearsney Bowlers took part to play for the Robert Potts Memorial Shield 12 months after his death the trophy was put up for play by Jeanette Potts & Family.  The day started off at 11am with the Spider which was won by the Men’s Club Captain David Gavin and continued throughout the day with the eventual winner being Murry Law, in 2nd place came Carol Wellard, 3rd Malcolm Deakin and 4th Club President Lyn Smith, the presentation of awards was made by Jeanette Potts and the event was organised by Roger Cook, the Charities being played for were the Pilgrims Hospice at Canterbury and the Macmillan Cancer Support group. a grand total of £600 was raised for the Charities and a Barbeque was held after the game along with a great Raffle (JJ Smith, Publicity Officer)
