Kearsney held the annual Open Mixed Triples on Sunday for The Arthur Lewis Trophy attracting 16 teams from across East Kent. Each triple played 3 games each of 1 hour 15 minutes with 3 points being awarded to the winners and 1 point for a drawn match. At the conclusion of the teams completing their games, just 1 triple, of Freda Smith (lead), Keith Howe (2) and Fred Pontin (skip) had managed to win all of their 3 matches, so retaining the trophy they won last year, on 9 points. In second place winning 2 and drawing 1 game on 7 points & winning 23 ends over their 3 matches came the triple of Gwen Burke (Cliftonville), Ray & Vic Field (Birchington) and in third place was the Gateway family triple of Phil, Sue & Bob (slim) Scott also on 7 points but winning just 17 ends. In fourth place was the triple from Victoria Park B.C. of Fran Smith, Chris Fearn & Bob Norman with 2 wins and 6 points. Go to Photos for more photographs.
