Four Kearsney bowlers, Alan Hare, Keith Hughes, Keith Howe & Fred Pontin (skip) won the Faversham Recreation B.C.'s annual Spitfire competition on Sunday (24th September). Twelve teams were split into 2 groups of 6 and played each other team in their group. Each game lasting just 8 ends, with the top team from each group playing off in a final. The Kearsney quartet won 3 of their 5 group matches and managed to secure top spot in their group on shot difference. In the final Kearsney played a Whitstable B.C. team and going into the 8th and last end were 4 - 6 down, but holding 3 shots Fred did not have to deliver his last bowl and Kearsney ran out winners 7 - 6. WELL DONE KEARSNEY.
